As a Feed Mill Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of animal feed.
Your primary duties will include monitoring equipment, adjusting settings, ensuring quality control, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the feed mill facility.
Additionally, you will collaborate with team members to achieve production goals efficiently while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation: Operate feed mill machinery including mixers, grinders, conveyors, pellet mills, and Feed Trucks according to standard operating procedures.
Quality Control: Monitor the production process to ensure feed quality meets established standards.
Conduct routine inspections of ingredients and finished products for consistency and adherence to specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
Assist in ordering supplies as needed and maintain accurate records of inventory transactions.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly.
Participate in safety training programs as required.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members including supervisors, and maintenance personnel to optimize production efficiency and resolve issues as they arise.
Documentation: Complete production reports, logs, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure all required paperwork is completed according to company policies.
Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the feed mill facility.
Follow proper cleaning procedures to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards governing the production of animal feed.
Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to operations as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training in a related field preferred.
Prior experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or agricultural setting, preferably in feed production or grain processing.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to industrial machinery operation.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Utilizing Loader to load trucks and maintain a clean ingredient storage area.
Operation of Hay Grinder.
Occasional Feed Truck driver relief.
Willingness to comply with company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and quality standards.
