The Electrician is responsible for providing support on various installations, maintenance tasks, operations, and repairs on electrical systems on federal government contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use supplied tools, equipment and safety instructions.
Strive towards apprentice goal attainment and certifications.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with site policies.
Possess the ability to understand schematics and technical manuals
Assist the Electrician, which may involve doing basic tasks such as handling the tools, and it may also involve working independently from the Electrician at times on electrical tasks that require less skill or experience
Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and solve problems.
Complete electrical wiring tasks, alignment adjustments, and calibration of equipment following manuals, schematics, diagrams, blueprints and equipment specifications.
Use educational training for learning all procedures for installing and maintaining electrical systems as well as local and federal regulations and safety requirements.
Assists with and completes maintenance work orders on electrical equipment.
This includes testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts.
EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Obtain Electrical Trainee Certification according to state requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years of experience.
Good verbal, spelling and follow directions skills.
Previous apprentice experience is a plus.
Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes a plus.
Have basic health and safety awareness.
Timekeeping, reliability, ability to work as part of a team.
Willingness and ability to undertake formal training relating to successful achievement of apprenticeship.
Flexibility with regards to the work location, hours of work and duties.
Basic computer skills.
