OVERVIEW
C Speed is seeking TARS-experienced mechanical Field Service Representatives (FSR) to support the DHS Customs & Border Protection Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) program.
The TARS program leverages aerostat systems to provide persistent surveillance, detection capabilities, to our U.
S.
Government customer.
We have several opportunities providing Operations and Sustainment (O&S) support for TARS along the US Southern border in multiple locations including Puerto Rico, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
The ideal candidate will have TARS, TAS, or PSS-T program related experience as a current site support person, or prior program support.
The TARS Radar Field Service Representative will participate in the installation, troubleshoot, repair and support of a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems.
Travel obligations are on an as-required basis.
Individuals should have experience and expertise in one of the following areas and associated job requirement areas:
POSITION SUMMARY
• Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems with mechanical equipment.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of mechanical design as aerostat performance.
• Generates and performs troubleshooting activities for TARS mechanical subsystems to include using mechanical test equipment.
• Directs and performs corrective and preventive maintenance on TARS mechanical subsystems.
• Generate and perform Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), Site Acceptance Procedures (SATS), Field Directives, and Field Modification Procedures (FMPs).
• Assists conducting Root Cause analyses for TARS system issues and events.
• Perform site installations and government acceptance testing of the L88 aerostat systems.
• Assist technicians at remote locations with troubleshooting mechanical systems in isolating failures.
• Trains and certifies other personnel in selected aerostat mechanical subsystem procedures.
• Provide depot-level support and technical assistance to technicians at remote site locations.
• Identify obsolescent components and work with the design team in finding alternate solutions.
• Provide failure analysis and recommend design changes to reduce risk and help maintain program.
• Travel will be required.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Ability to travel to multiple sites across the Southern Border.
• 6+ years’ industry experience in the following:
o Mechanical Maintenance with qualifications at the 10 or 20 series or greater level from Army MOS or other military branch equivalent or industry occupational specialties as a National Institute for ASE Certified Truck Mechanic or FAA General Mechanic 1 or greater.
• Ability to pass Aerostat Basic Training Course
• Successfully completed Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination, and issuance of DHS Suitability determination.
• Valid U.
S.
Driver’s license required.
• Proof of U.
S.
residency required.
• Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders.
Preferred
• Prior Aerostat Operator experience of any size Aerostat is preferred.
• Industry Specific Certification.
• Ability to become certified in-flight operation roles.
• Experience with Aerial Work Platforms, Forklifts, cranes, and Fall Protection.
• Confined Space Entry experience.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree in a related field.
Additional Years’ experience can substitute in place of a formal degree.
