*Job Summary:* Inputs data into computer, types correspondence and otherwise relieves supervisor of clerical work and minor administrative and business detail.
Requires moderate supervision.
*Essential Functions:* Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting department documents and information.
Acts as department or team receptionist by triaging telephone inquiries, filing, doing data entry and completing other minor clerical duties.
Reviews documents for accuracy and inputs data as needed; records visits on audit calendar.
Recording duties are based on the individual Hospice's operations but may include PI Logs, EPP information, etc.
Reviews all information on admission, recertification and discharge for completeness and accuracy.
Responsible for obtaining any information needed for completeness.
Processes orders for physician signature.
*Additional Responsibilities:* Performs other duties as assigned.
Adheres to Hospice Code of Ethics.
Conforms to all applicable Hospice policies and procedures.
Participates actively in continuing education and inservices.
Maintains confidentiality of patient information and business trade practices.
Assumes accountability for reporting incidents and complaints according to Hospice policy.
*Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:* · Organizational skills · Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and billing software · Time management · Cooperative attitude · Ability to operate standard office equipment · Advanced communication skills (verbal and written) · Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
*Information Management:* Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
*Risk Management:* Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.
Keeps abreast in changes in health care law.
Maintains Hospice/program compliance with local, state and federal laws and accreditation standards.
